| | Details:"Original Lithograph III" - Motif: Red Sun (Le soleil rouge) Joan Miro depicted our sun as the source of all life and guardian of our seasons and times of day as a glowing red sphere with sunspots and solar wind in a pink Milky Way - quite a youthful outfit for the 4.5 billion year old lady. But appearances are deceptive. By using the color red, her approaching death is already a certainty in this picture, because in about 7 billion years the sun will evolve into a red giant before it ends up as a white dwarf. Fortunately, there is still plenty of time until then to enjoy this wonderfully characteristic work by Miro.
