Floral - Flowers + Plants
Flowers, blossoms and plants in all variations - from the classic figurative flower still life of a Marc Chagall to the abstract floral rush of a Walasse Ting - are still among the most painted motifs in art today. As understandable as it is desirable, because "flower power" allows both artist and viewer to revel in colors and forms - and gives us back a piece of nature that we so often lose sight of. How wonderful that flowering works of art last a lifetime and don't just bloom for a week. Flowers in art are poetry, reverie and always a declaration of love.
