| Lithograph in colors for "Erker-Treffen 2", 1974, pencil signed
| The lithograph offered here was Tàpies' first contribution to the second of the "Erker-Treffen" (Erker Meetings) in St. Gallen, Switzerland, which attracted a great deal of attention at that time. The two-color lithograph was published together with a prose text by Alexander Mitscherlich entitled "Die Hand erinnert sich" (The hand remembers) on a double sheet. The catalog raisonné reveals that Mitscherlich also worked on his contribution as a lithograph, writing on the (lithographic) stone in his own handwriting. Tapies' work is signed and numbered in pencil by the artist below the image. We will send you the complete double sheet with Mitscherlich's text, which has unfortunately often been cut off. For reasons of authenticity, we recommend that you do not detach the text page, but simply fold it back for possible framing and hanging. This is because the works are also always shown as complete double sheets in the artist's catalogs raisonnés. About the “Erker-Treffen” (Erker Meetings): From 1972 to 1987, four of the legendary “Erker-Treffen” took place, focusing on encounters between well-known contemporary artists and authors at the host Erker-Galerie in St. Gallen. Antoni Tàpies also took part in three of these meetings, each time with an original lithograph. All of the graphic works were printed on a double sheet, with a work of prose or poetry lithographed in the author's handwriting placed on the opposite side. These “tandem works” were published as limited edition portfolios and are sought-after collector's items today. | Technique: | Original lithograph printed in two colors brown and black | Sizes: | 38 x 56 cm (double sheet with vertical centerfold, as published), 34 x 28 cm (image) | Paper: | BFK Rives wove paper | Edition: | From the edition of 200 signed and numbered copies | Published by: | Erker Galerie Verlag Presse, Franz Larese and Jürg Janett, St. Gallen, Switzerland | Printed by: | Erker-Presse, St. Gallen, Switzerland | Documentation / References: | Galfetti, Mariuccia.
