| | Details:"Le Carrousel du Louvre" (The Carrousel of the Louvre) We can only guess how much time Chagall must have spent on intensive studies at the beginning of his time in Paris. For his theme "Le Carrousel du Louvre", which looks onto the Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre, he painted the luscious green of the Jardin des Tuileries growing beyond the old walling into the sky, only interrupted by the sun canopying everything. Who might the three creatures floating in a kind of soap bubble above the scenery be? In any case, it must be spring because people are getting married in the “city of love”. But we can only speculate about why the bride might have turned the groom upside down.
