Details:"Programme Soirée Versailles" (Title page) In the same year that German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer and French President Charles de Gaulle signed the Élysée Treaty (1963), the then King and Queen of Sweden, Gustav VI Adolf and his wife Louise, paid a state visit to France. In their honor, the French president hosted a soirée at the Royal Opera of Louis XV in the Palace of Versailles on the evening of May 30, 1963. An elaborate program guided guests through the evening, with the front page adorned by the enchanting original color lithograph by Marc Chagall offered here. It shows a beautiful ballet dancer with a large bouquet of flowers against a dark background, with Chagall's impressive use of light and shadow. One of the artist's most graceful and moving original graphic works. As proof of authenticity, you will receive the original imprint page with the numbering (see photo 2) with your delivery.
