Details:

"Composition in pink, red and blue" (Composition rose, rouge et bleue)

Poliakoff, who only turned his attention to printmaking in 1953, drew this work in five colours. It was his 17th lithograph, so it can, with good reason, be considered as one of his early works of printmaking. The catalogue raisonné says of this work: “(…) It is very uncommon that the surface is divided, as in lithograph no. 17, into areas where isolated forms can be identified.”*

Technique: Original lithograph, printed in 5 colours
This is N O T a mass-produced reprint (photomechanical reproduction such as offset lithographs) but the original lithograph from 1958.
Year: 1958
Sizes: 31 x 24 cm / 12.2" x 9.4" (sheet)
Edition | Paper: One of approx. 2500 unsigned impressions on smooth velin paper. In addition, 75 pencil-signed and numbered impressions on BFK Rives wove paper with wide margins were published.
